Get to know me post ☀️ • • • I climbed this mountain. It’s not the first mountain I climbed and it’s not the biggest. But in some ways it felt like it was. This particular summit is actually very close to the city I live and is very accessible. I’ve wanted to climb this for a very long time. Nearly a decade. I’ve even made plans to with others and it always fell through. I was in a very long toxic/abusive relationship. 8 years off and on. I asked for very little in that relationship. One of the few things I asked was for my partner to climb this mountain with me. They never followed through. Found excuses. Pushed away my idea. Lots of emotions of rejection to unpack around that. Anyways fast forward over a year of being on my own single and finding my footing in this world. I still wanted to climb this mountain so why the fuck haven’t I? Well guess what. I did. I did it and I did it all alone. I’ve ask a number of people to join me and it was just never their priority. Which is okay. I realize that my happiness is in my hands and if I want to climb a mountain that’s my problem and I’m the only one who is going to make it happen. So that’s what I did. 300m of elevation. 1 hour to get up. An egg salad sammich and juice box. Pure bliss. If there is something you want to do don’t wait around for others to experience it ☀️🥾💕
