Got to the pasture this morning and baby was with another mare. Momma in the background I immediately knew something was wrong. I’ve spent all day at the vet. Rode in the trailer with mom and baby. Got back to the pasture to tend to chores and finally home. Cooking dinner the vet called just now. Momma took a turn for the worse. Ripped uterus and/or colon. Irreparable and she has to be put down for internal bleeeding. I’m exhausted. Upset and I still have to tell my son his horse isn’t going to make it. She was our best kid horse and loved by all. It’s a sad day for us all and I’m sorry I haven’t responded to all the DMs. I will get to them tomorrow 😞😔
