The Star shows up at a time of new beginning but without the naivetée of the Fool or the single-mindedness of the Chariot. It doesn’t come with the unfettered excitement of those cards, either. The Star comes into our sky as a reminder of the new chapter dawning and an invitation to feel through the fear, discomfort, and shakiness of whatever difficulty we’re moving out of. Where I live in the Northeast, the bright crocus buds get covered occasionally by that icy spring snow. Every year the persistence of life seems at once impossible and inevitable, and so is the process of our healing. The worst is over (for now) but the work continues, and the Star invites us to look up for a moment of respite. To honor ourselves and how far we’ve already come. Make sure that her radiance travel all these lightyears for nothing.
