Happy and carefree! Now you can hear the wind I was talking about in my last post. šŸ’Ø The second video was taken on the way back to the car, and that was before the wind got really crazy! Haha. Isn’t nature just so stunning? šŸ˜ Little life update: I finally went to an orthodontist consultation about a week ago. My plan was to transfer my Invisalign treatment from North Carolina to here. I haven’t been moving my teeth for about a year, but I wear my trays at night. In that time I’ve noticed my overbite has once again appeared. The consult was extremely disappointing. I liked the orthodontist a lot because he was very honest and up front with me. He said that he won’t give me Invisalign treatment because it would be a waste of time and money. He said my story is a sad one and his heart goes out to me. Backstory: I had a narrow pallet and had to have it expanded when I was a kid. Then I had braces and headgear for 4 years. A few years ago I noticed I had an overbite and my pallet looked narrow on the top. I went to an orthodontist and he said I have a tongue thrust and I needed speech therapy before starting treatment. So I did weeks of speech therapy and tongue exercises. Then I wore Invisalign for a year and I thought things were going well until I started rubber bands. Shortly after that (this orthodontist said he doesn’t know if it’s related) I started having massive jaw pain. I had clicking in my jaw in the past, but nothing like this. I went to PT for 9 months, and my jaw has been pretty good for a while now. Basically my teeth can’t be corrected without jaw surgery because my jaw is so far apart. My two options are: 1 leave everything how it is and just get retainers. 2 have braces for 18 months, then jaw surgery, then braces for several more months. And this might not just be a decision based on aesthetics because only my back molars are touching. Which means I might grind my teeth down to nothing in the future. There is a spot that’s already completely flat. This whole situation is so overwhelming for me. It’s definitely not something I expected to encounter at 28. Lots of people say I have a beautiful smile, but I am still self-conscious about it sometimes. You can see just how gummy it is at the end of the first video. And it’s really the overbite that bothers me. And, I want to make sure I still have teeth later in life and that my jaw stays pain free. On the other hand, jaw surgery is terrifying, I don’t think content with braces is a good look, and it will be $20,000 or more! 😳 I know a lot of you are here just for the sexiness, but for those who are here for more than that, I wanted to share my frustration over this. I think the next step is to go to the oral surgeon and find out more. This issue makes me sooooooo happy I’m not having kids and passing on this nightmare. If you’d like a story time on my decision to not have kids, let me know. 😊 Anyway, thanks for reading, and I wish you good health! āš•ļø
