Jamie, the older one, was always full of energy and loved to pull pranks on her younger sister. Gracie, though a bit more cautious, had learned to be on guard around Jamie, knowing her mischievous tendencies.
It was a hot summer afternoon, and the two girls were hanging out in their backyard, near the pool. The sun blazed high in the sky, and the cool water looked more inviting than ever. Gracie was lying on a lounge chair, reading a book, while Jamie paced back and forth, clearly plotting something.
"Hey, Gracie," Jamie called sweetly, “why don’t you come swim with me?”
Gracie looked up from her book, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. “What are you up to, Jamie?”
“Me? Nothing!” Jamie said, feigning innocence. “It’s just hot out, and I thought it’d be fun.”
Gracie, feeling the sweat beading on her forehead, sighed. "Okay, fine." She stood up, stretching a little before heading towards the pool.
But just as she turned her back, Jamie pounced! In a split second, she reached down, grabbed the waistband of Gracie’s shorts, and yanked them upward in a quick, fierce wedgie.
"Jamie!" Gracie shrieked, trying to squirm away, but it was too late. The prank was already in motion, and before she could recover, Jamie, with a mischievous grin, gave her one final shove.
With a surprised yelp, Gracie toppled forward, arms flailing, and splashed straight into the pool with a huge splash. The water erupted around her as she came up gasping, sputtering, and glaring at her older sister, who was now doubled over laughing.
"Jamie!" Gracie sputtered, pushing her wet hair out of her face. "You’re such a brat!"
