If you know photographers, you’ve probably heard that in recent years the cost of film just keeps going up. Shooting analog film is expensive (**$35-$50 bucks per roll of 35mm film + scans**) but the ultra niche format of shooting 8mm or 16mm cinema film, the cost is just astronomical (**$100-$350 per cartridge + dev, scan**) woof!
As an artist and story teller though, I just feel PHYSICAL MEDIA is so exciting! I’m obsessed.
In a digital era it’s incredibly cool to have the ability to produce physical visual media. I’ll have these reels of celluloid film in metal tins, my whole life.
**IMAGINE:**
Maybe someday I’ll have become an internationally recognized artist of the smut world and my short films *shot on REAL FILM* will become part of museum collections or belong to a private collector. Hmm. I should call my lawyer to update my will: “*what to do with my 8mm erotica films*”. Haha 🥰
