I was enjoying a crisp, fall evening filled with laughter as I sat by the bonfire smoking the devil’s lettuce with our friends. The munchies just started to set in for everyone, so of course as the good little host that I am, I excused myself and walked back to the house to gather a bit of everything. My plan was to raid the snack cabinet for something salty and something sweet.
When I walked inside, I heard what could only be described as squeaks coming from my sneakers like that of skidding your wet shoes on a freshly waxed floor. It was truly one of the most annoying sounds I have ever heard, but I couldn’t find where it was a coming from! I quickly removed my sneakers thinking maybe a bug crawled in from outside, seeking refuge from the fire. I wasn’t wearing socks, though, so eeeeeeeek!
At first I sat there stretching my legs out, letting my feet dry off from the sweat that collected on them. My stomach started to grumble and I remembered My guests outside. I sat up, licking my lips when I saw it… the smallest little fleck glistening in the light. It was a half-eaten m&m, with a speck of a person melted into it squeaking and squealing.
“You’re a loud little thing aren’t you?” I said, watching it squirm. “Thing is, I have friends over, and you're just so… whats the word? Oh, thats it: Useless. And honestly annoying.”
The tiny began squealing more and more, but I couldn’t understand it’s obvious pleas for pity. I hovered that tasty little treat over my tongue and whispered, “The world doesn’t need tinies like you in it. What a shame; you could’ve worshipped all of our feet!”
Mmmm what a tasty little treat, indeed 🤤
