I am the sole provider for my household of 2 & have barely been able to work this last month so times are incredibly hard for me! If you are new, I had 2 hernias that developed from jumping on a trampoline in December. I had to wait several weeks to get into surgery to repair the damage. Surgery was on the 19th of Janurary and went well. However, I did have a complication with my IV site in my hand & developed bloood clots in my arm from it. (I knew when they placed the IV that something was wrong but my nurse ignored it and said it was fine.) I was taken to the ER the next day for massive pain in my arm and chest as well as a major infection. The infection caused 2 large pink streaks to form from my hand up my arm almost to my shoulder. I will be starting bloood thinners today for 3 months as a way to dissolve the clots in my arm. They aren't sure what the long term impact of all of this will be yet or the true damage to my arm. They also don't know how long it will take for the pain to go down, or for me to regain function of my arm. Everything is up in the air. I am a super healthy 33 year old women, I don't drink & I don't smoke. I developed clots in my arm after the IV bc of my birthcontrol! The hospital knew this is a MAJOR risk of ANY birthcontrol & didn't tell me. They also said I should keep taking my birthcontrol, even the morning of my surgery. & didn't tell me to stop taking it until 5 days after my surgery & my clots!!! I am telling you this so you can keep this knowledge somewhere in your brain for a loved one of yours. So, if something ever happens with them you will remember how dangerous birthcontrol can be and try to keep them safe. The pain in my arm is excruciating & hurts far worse than my surgery. The infection has kicked my ass & ive been sleeping for 18+hrs a day. Please keep sending me good vibes & thoughts. I'll respond to messages again soon Xoxo- Becca
