My stomach sunk when I heard we had the 6th shark attack on the east coast in about 4 months tonight. These news are really important and deeply affecting me as surfing is my greatest pleasure in life, and I can’t help but being heart broken for a fellow surfer who lost their life in one of the most brutal way of dying at the hands of nature. It’s at the point where I can’t even joke about sharks anymore cause the number of attacks are getting serious. As much as I’ve always been an advocate for marine life protection, and I know I go in at my own risk, I wish I could still go without the constant lingering thought there might be one stalking me every time I go out in the water. I wish there was some reliable technology we could get to repel sharks as I don’t believe in culling, but I’m sick of feeling sick to my stomach every time I go in the water and sick of losing kids, fathers, life loving people enjoying the water. I know I’m the perfect snack size and that makes it even more scary. Have a thought for us on the east coast ❤️
