I bought this dress after deciding that my two chihuahuas would go as Queen Elizabeth and King Charles for Halloween last year. So, after some serious consideration, I knew I wanted to dress like Princess Diana. To me, she was the epitome of grace, and one of my first remembered responses to beauty. So, I googled, "Travolta Dress", as that was the iconic dress that I most remembered. And here it was for sale in Plano, Texas! And, AND, the woman selling it had been an actress and piano singer in Los Angeles in the 80's. She said she saw it in the Jessica McClintock store on Rodeo Drive, and just had to wear it out. She ended up wearing it to the Oscars that year, and her memoirs are coming out this year. So, this dress has such a rich history, rich texture (velvet, my favorite, you know why) and it feels like butter when you slip it on. So, I decided to take some liberties with Throwback Thursday and make it about the dress. And you can't have a 1980s ball gown without the most silkiest of pantyhose, a well fitting thong, and a strapless bra to remove sexily :). I never got to wear the dress as Princess Diana because my family got sick on Halloween, so I think I'll know what I'll be next year, for sure! I hope you all are as excited for the full XXX photo shoot as I am. Be on the lookout for it this evening. XOXO Jess
