All of us are born with power and then some of us have the environment that adds value, respect and our power increases while other’s have the type of parents that devalue with little respect and the power of that baby decreases down to almost nothing NO POWER by the time they are grown up. I think true power is self-esteem and respect that can be seen. But they have to do more than just want power. My ex-bff wanted power. She told me she wanted power, but she has the emotional maturity of a baby and all a baby can do with their power is scream and make others miserable until the baby is either tired or happy. Most kids see their power from a very early age and if they are abused then what happens is their emotional intellect remains stunted at the age where the abuse took place because emotional maturity requires PRACTICE to get perfect. Abused kids just never get the chance to practice anything beyond what worked the first time to get the bully to go away. As they get older they add in the other new stuff they have been learning to aid their security. They learn to abuse their power only to them the abuse is how they hold on to an manage their power. They can’t see anything wrong about their actions until other people show them. They still scream and cry, but now they can pout. They can hurl insults. All of the unhealthy behavior patterns that are biologically instinctual for survival are the ones that are PERFECTED by the emotionally stunted kid who has their caregivers to blame. Over time they add in guilt, lies & aggression. Then the healthy kids are shown OTHER WAYS to get what we want that don’t involve hurting another person. It seems like the biggest bullies in life realize all of this. This is them; this is their story; they relate to the only way they know. Then they search for the excuse that makes bullying ok “IF EVERYONE JUST UNDERSTOOD WHY THEY HAD TO POST THAT IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT THEY WERE JUST ***standing up*** for someone else!!!” Well I reject the idea that in certain cases, abuse is ok or even warranted. In current events this is what Putin is doing. He claims to be the hero! He is claiming to be solving a crisis that someone else caused. ***there look at the proof the west started it, mom!!*** I want us to get to a place where it doesn’t matter who started it or why. What I want to matter is the action taken in response and this will be the hardest thing ever to influence in modern society because WE ALL FEEL ENTITLED TO REACTIVE ABUSE. My mission will be to get society to WANT to be the bigger person. I want us to give up the entitlement that gives us the right to bully, harass, shame, name-call and much worse to the people we can “prove” deserve it. I believe no one ever deserves abuse. And if we can all get to that place ***the place inside us all*** where we actually feel disgust for the “hero” that cheerfully slays their enemy, then I will consider my life a success.
